The African Development Education Research and Association is committed to promoting knowledge, collaboration, and innovation for the advancement of the African continent and its people.

ADERA recognises the pivotal role of education and research in the sustainable development of Africa

OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS

  • Advance and promote research and education in Africa;
  • Provide a platform for the exchange of ideas, research findings, and best practices among scholars, researchers, and educators within Africa and globally;
  • Foster cooperation, collaboration, and partnerships between researchers, educational institutions, governments, and organizations across Africa and the world;
  • Support the professional development of scholars, researchers, and educators in Africa through training, mentorship, and networking opportunities;
  • Advocate for policies and initiatives that promote quality education and research in Africa;
  • Publish research outcomes, educational resources (journals, reports, policy briefs), and scholarly materials that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in African development.
MEMBERSHIP

African Development and Education Research Association

Membership shall be open to: –

  • Individual Members: Scholars, educators, students, and practitioners interested in education and development in Africa.
  • Institutional Members: Universities, research institutes, NGOs, and development organizations.
  • Honorary Members: Individuals recognized for distinguished service or contributions to the mission of ADERA.
  • Student Members: Full-time undergraduate or postgraduate students.

Admission to Membership shall be subject to:

  • Submission of a completed membership application form.
  • Payment of applicable membership dues.
  • Approval by the Executive Committee or Membership Sub-Committee.

Membership Fees:

  • Registration Fee: A once-off fee of R500 upon initial membership registration.
  • Annual Membership Fee: R150.00, payable by January 31 of each year.
  • The Executive Committee shall review membership fees periodically and recommend adjustments to the general assembly as necessary.
